Timeless (39) From time to time. A stroll under pink cherry blossoms. April in Spring. (I)

Motto:
"I have decided to be happy because it's good for my health."
"Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well." Voltaire

One more time, this Spring came to us, as a promise. A wonderful promise as a  fresh and revigorant vision of those pink cherry blossoms and white prunus blooms, as well, among others seen around the park. A stroll in the evening, with the sound of Blackbirds in the background and the usual noise of the people having a short walk on the alleys or just by sitting on the benches to admire the new vegetation of Spring. I can make a mention and say that walking having a discopathy or sciatica crisis for sure it's not a pleasure. But, I kept walking while I was looking and admiring the beauty of the trees in bloom, just thinking that it's pure enjoyment for soul. Therefore, walking is good for health. Even, with that sharp pain of the back, of the feet discomfort, with the toes having severe numbness, as well, I still feel positive and I'm waiting for recovery. Of course, I have done physiotherapy, kinesiotherapy, too. So, back to these days of Spring, admiring the cherry blossoms along the alleys, admiring the green trees and the golden light at sunset, I feel positive. What can I say? I can only agree with the inspirational and positive quotes that I've found and read them, lately: "No one else is walking in your shoes. Do what is right for you". And for sure, Voltaire was amazingly genius and honestly by saying:" I have decided to be happy because it's good for my health"!
Having a perfect and inspired Springtime in April!
Ps. When I started to write the notes for this post, we had such lovely sunny days, as usually in the early Spring. But this fact, slowly, changed into a 'Springtum'... Since a couple of days, it rains and rains and to me, it looks to be like... Any guess?... chilly autumn rains!! And who knows... till tomorrow, it could turn into and actually become quite a stunning mélange, of which I heard and read about, of Spring and Winter seen as a "Springter"... As they mentioned at the forecast for this weekend, it will be snow around ... So, I'll promise to be back, virtually, with the sunny days of Springtime and some magnolium flowers in the next posts... Just to say so, I feel positive and yet pretty confused somehow... Warm greetings of 'Springtum, Springter' in April! :)

About Earth Day 2017 in media &  the Internet

  • Excerpts from Google Doodles Archive:

"Happy Earth Day 2017!"*

"Today, we honor the rich, vast Earth that’s sustained generations before us and continues to nurture life and inspire wonder. At an estimated 4.543 billion years of age, the Earth is still the only known object in the Universe known to harbor life. It’s also the densest planet in the Solar System and the largest of the four terrestrial planets. That’s quite an awe-inspiring roster of qualities, if you ask us.

Today’s Doodle follows the story of a fox who dreams about an Earth that’s been polluted and adversely affected by climate change. The fox wakes with a startle, and urgently starts making small lifestyle changes to care for the Earth. Along the way, the fox enlists friends – including Momo the cat, and Google Weather’s favorite frog – to join its quest to protect and nurture the environment.

To combat things like coral bleaching and pollution, the three eco-rangers are inspired to take action such as eating less meat, carpooling, and unplugging unused electronic devices. That’s some heroic work for tiny animals!"

Celebrating Earth Day on Google Search*

"But the Earth Day celebration doesn’t end there! By clicking beyond the Doodle to Google Search, you’ll find easy Earth Day tips to help you do your part in saving our planet, including supporting critical conservation efforts such as wildlife conservation with World Wildlife Fund, coral reef conservation with The Ocean Agency, and rainforest conservation with The Jane Goodall Institute."

  • Excerpts from Wikipedia:
"Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.
On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China, and some 120 other countries. This signing satisfied a key requirement for the entry into force of the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris." * Click the link above for more info about Earth Day. "The equinoctial Earth Day is celebrated on the March equinox (around March 20) to mark the precise moment of astronomical spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and of astronomical autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. An equinox in astronomy is that point in time (not a whole day) when the Sun is directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year. In most cultures, the equinoxes and solstices are considered to start or separate the seasons.
John McConnell first introduced the idea of a global holiday called "Earth Day" at the 1969 UNESCO Conference on the Environment. The first Earth Day proclamation was issued by San Francisco Mayor Joseph Alioto on March 21, 1970. Celebrations were held in various cities, such as San Francisco and in Davis, California with a multi-day street party. UN Secretary-General U Thant supported McConnell's global initiative to celebrate this annual event; and on February 26, 1971, he signed a proclamation to that effect, saying:
May there be only peaceful and cheerful Earth Days to come for our beautiful Spaceship Earth as it continues to spin and circle in frigid space with its warm and fragile cargo of animate life.
United Nations secretary-general Kurt Waldheim observed Earth Day with similar ceremonies on the March equinox in 1972, and the United Nations Earth Day ceremony has continued each year since on the day of the March equinox (the United Nations also works with organizers of the April 22 global event). Margaret Mead added her support for the equinox Earth Day, and in 1978 declared:
"Earth Day is the first holy day which transcends all national borders, yet preserves all geographical integrities, spans mountains and oceans and time belts, and yet brings people all over the world into one resonating accord, is devoted to the preservation of the harmony in nature and yet draws upon the triumphs of technology, the measurement of time, and instantaneous communication through space.
Earth Day draws on astronomical phenomena in a new way – which is also the most ancient way – by using the vernal Equinox, the time when the Sun crosses the equator making the length of night and day equal in all parts of the Earth. To this point in the annual calendar, EARTH DAY attaches no local or divisive set of symbols, no statement of the truth or superiority of one way of life over another. But the selection of the March Equinox makes planetary observance of a shared event possible, and a flag which shows the Earth, as seen from space, appropriate."
At the moment of the equinox, it is traditional to observe Earth Day by ringing the Japanese Peace Bell, which was donated by Japan to the United Nations. Over the years, celebrations have occurred in various places worldwide at the same time as the UN celebration. On March 20, 2008, in addition to the ceremony at the United Nations, ceremonies were held in New Zealand, and bells were sounded in California, Vienna, Paris, Lithuania, Tokyo, and many other locations. The equinox Earth Day at the UN is organized by the Earth Society Foundation."

  • About Google's Earth Day Doodle in Time*

Source of photo: Google.Excerpts: "In a series of illustrations, the Google doodle tells the story of a sleeping fox that has a nightmare about the consequences of climate change, featuring melted icebergs and dead plants. Disturbed, the fox enlists two friends to be more thoughtful about conservation—the trio eat vegetables, grow plants, ride bikes and use solar energy.
Google also offered conservation tips for Earth Day, reminding people to turn off lights, plant trees, eat locally sourced food and avoid driving."

Excerpts from the article "An Optimistic View For Earth Day"
"As we arrive at Earth Day 2017, reporting on Earth science can sometimes feel like a gloomy affair. Global temperatures are at record highs. Arctic sea ice is in pretty bad shape. Bleaching events are taking a toll on coral reefs. And as an interesting article in EOS recently noted, humanity is affecting the very shape of Earth’s surface in unprecedented ways." *

that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.
This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.*"

Event: April. Eveniment. Aprilie

The fascinating experience of seeing amazing "face" of the "blood moon"- Total lunar eclipse... the celestial event!
"A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes within Earth's umbra (shadow). As the eclipse begins, Earth's shadow first darkens the Moon slightly. Then, the shadow begins to "cover" part of the Moon, turning it a dark red-brown color (typically - the color can vary based on atmospheric conditions). The Moon appears to be reddish because of Rayleigh scattering (the same effect that causes sunsets to appear reddish) and the refraction of that light by Earth's atmosphere into its umbra." click and read for more info

Excerpts:
"On April 4, lucky skywatchers can enjoy a total eclipse of the Moon. Visible across the Pacific and parts of North and South America, this is the first of two total lunar eclipses in 2015. Observers in the eastern half of Australia and all of New Zealand and Hawaii can see the entire eclipse. In western North America, the total eclipse will be visible in the pre-dawn sky but the Moon will set before the eclipse ends. Observers in eastern North America and most of South America will see the Moon set before the eclipse reaches totality. Join Slooh's Bob Berman and Will Gater as they discuss and marvel over live feeds of the lunar eclipse live on April 4 from multiple sites across the world."

April 2015 lunar eclipse*
"A total lunar eclipse will take place on 4 April 2015. It is the former of two total lunar eclipses in 2015, and the third in a tetrad (four total lunar eclipses in series). Other eclipses in the tetrad are those of April 15, 2014, October 8, 2014, and September 28, 2015.

Totality will last only 4 minutes and 43 seconds, making it the shortest lunar totality in almost five centuries since 17 October 1529 (which lasted 1 minute and 42 seconds). The next very short lunar totality will be 2 minutes and 36 seconds on 11 September 2155. This is the sixth total lunar eclipse out of nine with totality under 5 minutes in a five millennium period between 2,000 BC and 3,000 AD." excerpts from Wikipedia: April 2015 lunar eclipse*

Chilly october day?!... neh...just the first snowfall! Prima ninsoare! (II)

First snowfall of the season! Snow...fall? :-* lol..funny faceFirst snowfall of the season came by surprise... in the last saturday of october... uninvited, appreciated by some, unwelcome by others... intriguing... an occasion to reflect... What will be or come soon till Christmas?

It will rain, snow again? ... the fall of leaves was replace it by "the early snow"!! ...

But, what's happening in your part of the world?

Stay positive, today, tomorrow and always!

"What I truly love" & "5 Sky Events This Week"

What I truly love/Ce-mi place cu adevărat:

A walk to the Black Sea seashore/ O plimbare la malul Mării Negre...

"The Black Sea* is a sea in Southeastern Europe. It is bounded by Europe, Anatolia and the Caucasus and is ultimately connected to the Atlantic Ocean via the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas and various straits. The Bosphorus Strait connects it to the Sea of Marmara, and the Strait of the Dardanelles connects that sea to the Aegean Sea region of the Mediterranean. These waters separate eastern Europe and western Asia. The Black Sea is also connected to the Sea of Azov by the Strait of Kerch." *click for more info on Wikipedia.
Wikipedia: "Mamaia is a resort on the Romanian Black Sea shore and a district of Constanța. Considered to be Romania's most popular resort,[1] Mamaia is situated immediately north-east of Constanţa's city center. It has almost no full-time residents, being populated mostly during the summer. Mamaia lies on a strip of land 8 km (5.0 mi) in length and only 300 m (328 yards) in width, between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol. The beach season is at its best between mid June and early September, when average daytime temperatures range between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius (78 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). The water stays warm until mid autumn."
12 cm)."The settlement was mentioned for the first time in 1421 under the name Kara Koyun ("Black Sheep"), to be renamed later on Karaköy or Carachioi ("The Black Village"). In 1927, the locality was again renamed to Năvodari and after five years, on 15 August 1932, it was granted commune status.

  Seashells in macro view

"A seashell or sea shell, also known simply as a shell, is a hard, protective outer layer created by an animal that lives in the sea. The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches by beachcombers. The shells are empty because the animal has died and the soft parts have been eaten by another animal or have rotted out.
The term seashell usually refers to the exoskeleton of an invertebrate (an animal without a backbone). Most shells that are found on beaches are the shells of marine mollusks, partly because many of these shells endure better than other seashells."

20.06.2014 Up-date/ Many thanks to the precious remark made by Erica Baker about the walk on the beach with shells: I'll add some photos of the seashore without so many seashells on... And what I observed about the sea shells ... when is season open - everyone's in a hurry to find out the most attractive ones!! well... this "dunes" of seashells are often seen in May... In rest, the sand beach is normally!""

  1. "A legendary symbol of beauty adds romance to the early morning skies this week, appearing along with some of the most elusive of Earth’s neighboring worlds."
  2. "Venus, the Morning Star: Starting at dawn on Tuesday, June 17, and for the rest of this week, look for the diamond-like Venus to appear in the eastern sky.  The brightest starlike object in the morning sky, Venus will rise about 90 minutes before dawn. The planet will hang about 10 degrees above the horizon within a half hour before sunrise."
  3. "Moon and Neptune: Before dawn on Wednesday, June 18, look for the ice-blue giant planet, Neptune, to be hanging 5 degrees south of the near quarter moon. Shining at nearly 8th magnitude, Neptune is a challenge to hunt down and is best viewed through large binoculars or telescopes."
  4. "Jupiter joins Pollux: After sunset on Friday, June 20, look toward the low northwest sky for the king of planets, brilliant Jupiter. The gas giant will make its closest approach to one of the Gemini constellation’s twins, Pollux, tonight. Appearing only 6 degrees apart, the two stellar objects are easy to see even from light-polluted suburbs, wherever there are no obstructions near the horizon."
  5. "June solstice: In the Northern Hemisphere, summer (winter in the Southern Hemisphere) officially begins at 6:51 a.m. EDT (10:51 UT) on Saturday, June 21; see a list of cities and local times here)."
