January 2017. The first snow of the year.

Another year, another celebration of blogging!
I celebrate 4 years of blogging and like in the last year, I'm still in search for... "a good subject, a good theme, a good photo capture... and a very interesting idea.
Who knows... All that matters, it is that I'm still in searching... and I'm hoping to have results..."

When it comes to talk about the passing of time and about celebration, in general speaking, well, it's pretty confusing. What exactly, we're supposed to celebrate? Obviously, that we're growing older, becoming much wiser, perhaps, becoming a bit nostalgic, but in a certain level much more tolerant with let's saying those younger than us. Now, we can look at them, probably with the same eyes, as our elderly, at their time, have used to looked at us before. And, somehow, with the rethoric question in mind: "Do you remember what I've told you?"; a question that it can make us, instantly, to have a short review of our passing time, through and in this present existence that goes so quickly.
"Time is passing!" and for sure there is no way to stop it. We can only collect memories. We can even share part of them, in the classic form of photos. Some photo instants. With each day, we became more aware about what amazing tool can be the photo camera and how stunning is the art of photography as a relevant process, as a result or as a modality of  expressing your filtered reality through lens.

Photography became available in these days of high tech, for almost anyone. For now, I use a simple normal digital camera, which it is not at all fancy, not at all extravagant. I love to work with some filters and I make my own collages. Sepia and b&w are my favorite options when I want to add a kind of layer of magical atmosphere to some instants. Sometimes, I make a mix of options.  This way, photography is more fun.
But, I do not want to talk about technologies and other things related to photography. There are proffesionals for this. We're amateurs, after all! And as an amateur of taking photos occasionally, it's not my business to refer to these kind of things.

As an amateur, I like to capture moments of life. Smiling, I confess that I'm not glad and do not enjoy to be obstruct by those who are not really ready to be photographed, for instance, at a family event.  Between the unwanted stoppage and... their exclamations like: "oh dear! oh me!... "my hair"... say smile... say cheese!!" ... like I previously said, time is passing...

In the last year, I have continued my series of photos titled:
"Timeless",
"Soul journeys through memories.  Călătorii de suflet."
and
 "One picture or more... From time to time."

So, for every category, I'll try to make a review of the content. And I'll try to select my favourite post or essay, even if this, actually, it is not really possible. It's all about being subjective. How can I choose, though? I will actually going to choose some pictures, or I'm going to visualise the themes, the ideas or the subjects exposed or used.

Turning back to the year of 2017 - as always it is said - at the beginning of the new year, it is so lovely to make new resolutions. So, in this spirit, I'll believe that I'm ready for new improvements in all aspects of life.  Perhaps, I'm subjective... for sure and it is normal and, also, it is in the humane nature to be subjective...
 But, I can, also, remain optimistic and confident, like in the previous years, and to look forward at the next period of time with the trust that the everything will be much prosperous for all of us, in a much more stable social environment with a relevant economic growth and a financial progress and, as well, with evident social and cultural benefits.
Finally, I hope for all of us to be well, to be healthy and to find a good meaning of all these changes around us.

For this celebration, I guess that's all I ever wanted to say. I do trust that I'll receive optimal results and some answers with no doubt. Till then, my best regards!

• Soul journeys through memories. (3) Postcards from Băile Herculane

 "Băile Herculane (Latin: Aqua Herculis; German: Herkulesbad; Hungarian: Herkulesfürdő; Czech: Herkulovy Lázně) is a town in Romanian Banat, in Caraş-Severin County, situated in the valley of the Cerna River, between the Mehedinţi Mountains to the east and the Cerna Mountains to the west, elevation 168 meters."
"The spa town of Băile Herculane has a long history of human habitation. Numerous archaeological discoveries show that the area has been inhabited since the Paleolithic era. The Peștera Hoților (Cave of the Thieves), contains multiple levels, including one from the Mousterian period, one from the Mesolithic period (late Epigravettian) and several from the later Neolithic periods.
Legend has it that the weary Hercules stopped in the valley to bathe and rest. During the 165 years of Roman domination of Dacia, the Herculaneum Spa was known all over the Empire.

• Soul journeys through memories. (4) Memorial Brancusi. Viziuni pentru suflet.

 In this post, I've tried to realise a suite of photos presentation and collages dedicated to the Hobița Village, the place where it can be found the Constantin Brâncuși  Memorial House. The old house, itself, it is said that was inherited by his sister and no longer exist. So, actually, at Hobita it is the place, the terrain inherited by C. Brâncuși  and where the great sculptor was born.

          The house that is exhibited in Hobița: "It is a monument of the late nineteenth century and was restored in 1971, as the establishment of the museum. The museum's collection includes photographs, albums, documents, books, letters that reflect moments of the life and work of Constantin Brâncuși . It shows the original interior and peasant furnishings from the early twentieth century. "
