"Origin":
"This saying first appeared in the 3rd century BC in Greek. It didn't appear in its current form in print until the 19th century, but in the meantime there were various written forms that expressed much the same thought. (...) The person who is widely credited with coining the saying in its current form is Margaret Wolfe Hungerford (née Hamilton), who wrote many books, often under the pseudonym of 'The Duchess'. In Molly Bawn, 1878, there's the line "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.""Beauty"
beauty is every overflow, every glow, every overfilling and every great poverty;
beauty is to be faithful to the summer and to go naked until the autumn;
beauty is the plumage of the parrot or the sunset that bodes storms;
beauty is a sharp feature and an accent of one’s own: it is I,
beauty is a great loss and a silent funeral procession,
beauty is the fan’s light beat that wakes the breeze of destiny:
beauty is to be as voluptuous as the rose
or to forgive everything because the sun is shining;
beauty is the cross the monk chose or the necklace the lady has from her lover,
beauty is not the thin sauce in which poets serve themselves,
beauty is to wage war and seek happiness,
beauty is to serve higher powers."
"The Waiting Soul"
"Rața este numele atribuit unei varietăți de specii din familia Anatidae. Sunt păsări de apă, mai mici decât rudele lor, lebedele și gâștele și pot fi găsite atât în apa dulce cât și în cea sărată."
The male birds (drakes) have a glossy green head and are grey on wings and belly, while the females have mainly brown-speckled plumage. Mallards live in wetlands, eat water plants and small animals, and are gregarious. This species is the ancestor of most breeds of domestic ducks."

"Pescărușii sunt păsări acvatice care trăiesc pe coasta mărilor, ele făcând parte din familia Laridae, ordinul Charadriiformes. După unii autori aici sunt încadrații și pescărușii răpitori (Stercorariidae), rândunica de mare (Sternidae), forfecarii (Rhynchopidae) ca și pinguinii (Alcidae). Familia Laridae cuprinde 6 genuri cu 55 de specii."
"The Common Gull (European and Asian subspecies; see below) or Mew Gull (North American subspecies) Larus canus is a medium-sized gull which breeds in northern Asia, northern Europe and northwestern North America. It migrates further south in winter. Its name does not indicate that it is an abundant species, but that during the winter it feeds on common land, short pasture used for grazing."
"Turtles are reptiles of the order Chelonii or Testudines characterised by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs and acting as a shield. (...) Turtles are ectotherms—their internal temperature varies according to the ambient environment, commonly called cold-blooded. However, because of their high metabolic rate, leatherback sea turtles have a body temperature that is noticeably higher than that of the surrounding water..."
"Broasca-țestoasă este o reptilă din ordinul Testudines." (...)

Wow! What a comprehensive post for spring. Beautiful photos and interesting information. Thank you so much for linking into Nature Notes.... Michelle
RăspundețiȘtergereThank you so much, Michelle! I hope I had a good inspiration... the pictures were made in sunny light of early spring and it's a trying to illustrate the fauna on the lake, as well people's dynamic agitation, that it could be observed on the alleys in cosy days! All the best!
ȘtergereWhat lovely light and blossoms.
RăspundețiȘtergereSome pretty blossomed trees and a sunny light of early spring on the alleys in the warmest days, indeed, even for a short while! Thank you so much for appreciation!
ȘtergereLovely scenes and pretty ducks.. I love the beautiful green trees, it has been awhile since I have seen green.. Lovely post, have a happy day. Thanks for linking up to my critter party.
RăspundețiȘtergereOh yes, greenery is now almost everywhere, but the rainy season is clearly on the way for a period of time if the forecast is correct. May 1 will be a little cloudy with autumn's temperatures (in some parts, even, still snowing)....but who knows?!... Thanks so much for hosting,too, and all the best, Eileen!
ȘtergereLovely serie!
RăspundețiȘtergereWell done!
Thank you so much, Hans!
ȘtergereLovely jacket weather shots. The balloons were fun.
RăspundețiȘtergereSo good to know that you enjoyed about it! Thank you!
ȘtergereLovely. The poems (by an author I did not know before) are beautifully illustrated by your photos. The whole post is a welcome ode to spring! Thanks for sharing.
RăspundețiȘtergereThank you so much, too, Sallie! I discovered recently this poetess and poems of her in a book called "Scandinavian Spring". I've been so impressed about the charming lyrics, also...
Felicitari!
Multumesc mult pentru observatiile facute! Am incercat, mereu, sa surprind cate putin, in masura in care si tehnic vorbind, aparatul m-a lasat sa captez (asa pe "muchie de secunda" fara prea multe setari legate de vizibilitate, lumina, distanta)... uneori imi iese, alteori imi dau seama ca a fost o chestie de sansa... si tot asa!! In privinta baloanelor... cam asa a fost treaba: am observat rapid, dupa ce ma tot chinuiam sa fotografiez rate, si fiind pe alee in mers...am avut doua incercari in timp ce tot inaintam si, evident, in dinamica fiind ma gandeam fie ca iese instantul aiurea ori blurat...) lol..
ȘtergereMultumesc inca o data si toate cele bune pentru restul saptamanii!
I find your photos quite beautiful, soothing and peaceful Alexa. Thank you for your kind comments and for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
RăspundețiȘtergereGrateful so much for appreciation, Laura!
ȘtergereAnd thank you for your beautiful posts filled with energy and inner peace feeling and where It can be found positivity, as well!! All the best to you!
We all have our opinions of 'beauty' and I think it's similar to most. Your shots are so bright and cheerful.
RăspundețiȘtergereFor sure, indeed - we have different notions of senses of this concept... otherwise: would never existed it the philosophy of aesthetics or gnoseology - trying to explain the notions of ugliness or beauty... Thank you kindly so much for thoughts and enjoying the pictures, Bettyl!
ȘtergereWow! You have an amazing collection for the post. Great pics.
RăspundețiȘtergereThank you so much! All the best, Indrani!
