In this autumn don't miss a special place to visit or to see: Romanian Athenaeum and the George Enescu Festival. The festival is hold at every 2 years (in september) and brings such a great oportunity to share in the cultural and social life of Bucharest through the multitude of the events organised at Athenaeum, Romanian Opera and some other cultural and public places.
(…) “The building was designed by the French architect Albert Galleron, built on a property that had belonged to the Văcărescu family and inaugurated in 1888, although work continued until 1897. A portion of the construction funds was raised by public subscription in a 28-year long effort, of which the slogan is still remembered today: "Donate one leu for the Ateneu!" (source: wikipedia)
